Track Name: Walking Dead Tonight
we were doomed right from the start
now vacant reflections of hideous strangers is all we are
we stare for hours and hours entranced
into computer screens
we take to the streets at night
slurring speech and staggering

so rise from the bed, what are you now?
hover about, in and out
of consciousness and daydream bouts
was this ever here? was it ever real?
my mirrors all complain
they're sick and tired of seeing the same old rotton things

and something's not quite right
something's not quite right in the world tonight
something's gone awry
you better watch your back
you better watch your mind

and the more you work, the less you think
you can take what you earn, take a shot to the head, poison relief
and our dripping veins and our ruptured hearts
are beautiful as we fall apart
and all around here hungry vultures fill the sky

and something's not quite right
something's not quite right in the world tonight
something's gone awry
you better watch your back
you better watch your mind
for the walking dead tonight
Track Name: Highway 65 Blues
I went to the place where they killed john wayne
they cut off his head, it's on memory lane
I went to the place where they killed mark twain
tom sawyer's washing dishes for minimum wage
and I went to the place
where kerouac wouldn't stick out his thumb

and I went to the place
where all the roads were plagued
with billboards telling me
what to do and where to stay
I went to this place, I spent all I had to drink it away
and I went to this place where shopkeepers no longer
pride themselves on how their livings are made
I went to this place
where no pay was bloodless or honest

and I went to this place where this machine made more fascists, for it was only a gun
in the hands of clones
I saw a kid buying bullets at the outlet mall toystore
watched him blow off his head with a dream
he conceived long ago

and all the action figures were dressed up like jesus
so no child would ever have to be alone
in the dust and the trenches
electronic voices shouting
shopping mall isles are turning into death row

oh, I went to the place of the artificial beatles
and I went to the place of wax elvis and cash
went to this place where mounds of estranged families say
never let go, the good things always last

and i went to the place where they
blasted thru mountains, went to this place
where they've landed with stores
went to this place, it was built on caverns
coughing up bones, but swallowing even more

and I went to this place where they're praying
for casinos, went to this place where they'd
bet their own young, went to this place yelling
what are you doing? but they could not hear me
they spoke in ancient evil tongues

I went to this place when there was no other
I went to this place to get away from the storm
I went to this place, I should've stayed behind
with frozen ghosts and broken trees
I fled straight into hellfire

and I went to this place where I could sell my soul
I went to this place, couldn't call it my home
I went to the place where musicians go to die
I'm still not quite sure if I came back alive, but I know
yes I know
yes I know
yes I know
that the sun don't shine, no the sun don't shine
no the sun don't shine on highway 65.
Track Name: Sinkhole (go into the ground)
take this city
take it down
take it to the underground
its electric meadows outshine the sun
burning everyone
and all belongings don't belong
the only thing I need's a song

go into the ground
get swallowed by the sound of the machine

take the money, take it down
take it so it's never found
the cyborgs squander
every little ounce
until the life in them runs out
and I'll be watching
when the lights go out
and this city starts to shout

go into the ground
get swallowed by the sound of the machine
Track Name: Vegetable Heart
i was born in the ground
i was grown and i was found
i was brought in like a baby on the stoup
i grew arms and i grew legs
made of dirt and vines and clay
they wrap around me like an earthen ball of string

silver-haired lady waters me
silver-haired lady watches me
and my vegetable heart
i gotta vegetable heart
it beats but there is no love

i never went too far
they were afraid I'd fall apart
they were afraid of what the world would do to me
so i just stayed in the yard
with mosquitos and mason jars
the birds and the squirrels were my only friends

silver-haired lady waters me
silver-haired lady watches me
making sure i never go too far
making sure i never fall apart
with my vegetable heart
i gotta vegetable heart
it beats but there is no blood
vegetable heart,
i gotta vegetable heart
it's strong but there is no love
no there is no love

sometimes i climb a tree
and stare for hours in the dark
and when the sun comes up it amazes me
but when the boys and the girls
walk together on the street
I don't feel anything, it just confuses me
and my vegetable heart
Track Name: Successful Businessman
successful businessman in a suit
how long will it be till i turn into you?
successful businessman...
successful man how do you do?

drive to the castles of glass and concrete
in you status lapping machine
tied up in the noose every morning and afternoon
saying 'please kill me'
electric chairs in boxes with monitors
collecting digits of society
being bound into them everyday, saying
'what a life this turned out to be'

and if a wise man were to ask what it's for
would a stagnant feeling reside?
would successful businessman just reply
'i was deceived by the dollar sign'

successful businessman in a suit
how long will it be till i turn into you?
successful businessman...
successful man how do you do?
successful man how do you do?
Track Name: My Haunted TV
I gotta haunted tv and it never turns off
I dream of corpses all night long
mocking me in my sleep
beckoning me to come and join them
I am Alex of the forced-open eyes
I am Winston with my head in the cage
I forget what it looks like outside
I forget I'm awake
bodily alterations underneath the knife
they're taking over the screen
artificial faces and superficial lives
are the ones held up to see now
everybody's talking but no one gives a shit
about what's spewing out of the other's pulpit
if I had any sense in me
I'd kill my haunted TV
swollen and malnurished rats rip eachother's throats
it's spreading like a disease
Hitler ain't in hell, he works for history
displaying a worse evil for politicos and bimbo queens
and everybody's watching, but no one does a thing
about the execution we're all witnessing
if I had any sense in me
I'd kill my haunted TV
what happened to this tool
it's been taken by the fools
the liars and thieves
the ghosts of talkshow hosts
gather around me
singing 'momento mori'
I gotta haunted TV and it never turns off
and I dream of corpses all night long
Track Name: God is Drunk
he's running late again
just like it's always been
must be at the bar
knockin' back a few
and it's been raining for nine straight days
and tell me what is there to do
but drink it up, and drink it up, and drink it up, too
the more I see the more I know it's true
we've been left alone without a thing to lose
and god is drunk again
just like me and you
have you seen him around?
have you seen him lately?
tremor stumbling
he drinks the sea
wipes his mouth of the whole horizon
earth is loosening from the sun
god is drunk and falling down
and all I am is a common mistake
and all I am is a carbon-based error
hear the noise of the barkeeper
he's serving a shot divine
the angels are in the back gettin' high
the more I see the more I know it's true
we've been left alone without a thing to lose
and god is drunk again
just like me and you
Track Name: Particle Blaster
you got nowhere to run
you got nowhere to hide
my mind is a mess
but my will is alright

I got my particle blaster
I got my particle blaster
yes I do

I caught you outright
you know I caught you again
I'd rather be your enemy
than your friend

I got my particle blaster
I got my particle blaster
yes I do
Track Name: Monsters
when i was a little kid
I had monsters livin under my bed
then i found out they were all in my head
i had nothin to be scared of then

oh you cannot hide away
from the monsters of today
they've all come back to get you in your new life

now i'm twenty-something years old
and where did those monsters go?
they're creeping thru computers and telephones
and they just won't let me go

so you cannot hide away
monsters grow up and they change
into loneliness, bills, fraud, murder, cancer and hell

before I'm on my dying bed
i'd better clean up my head
from demonic infernos to bright seas of golden grain
or else i'll really suffer for it

oh i don't wanna die or live
afraid of things i don't need to believe in
oh, tell me, mama, are these things all in my head?
